Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is planning of switching from his jersey number 23 to jersey number 6 next season.

The NBA superstar has been wearing the number 23 behind his jersey ever since he joined the Western Conference side and the ‘Yellow and Blue’ part of Los Angeles in the 2018/ 2019 NBA season.

LeBron was drafted into the league in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers at the same time the legendary Michael Jordan was retiring from the league when he drafted the first round first pick in that NBA Draft.

He worn the number 23 jersey at his hometown team in the first 6 seasons of his career at the Cavs while he led them to their first ever NBA Finals but will fall short to the prime San Antonio Spurs after they were ‘sweep’ 4-0 at the finals.

He later in the Summer of 2010 joined forces with his best friends and draft-mates Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade at the Miami Heat where he made a change to wear the number 6 jersey number. In Miami, LeBron won his first NBA Championship after the Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 NBA Finals 4-1.

He won his second title the following year after helping the Miami Heat to beat the San Antonio Spurs in an intensive 4-3 at the 2013 NBA Finals, a series he sort for revenge in his first final lost in 2007.

LeBron made a very controversial move to the Cavs and choosed the number 23 jersey back and won his hometown their first NBA title after beating the Golden State Warriors in a 4-3 series. A finals that is regarded as the greatest comeback in the history of the NBA finals after the Cavs went down 3-1 in the first 4 games.

After spending al the 4 years on his contract with the Cavs, Lebron signed a super-max contract with the Lakers and helped the team to win the 2020 NBA Championship by beating his former team the Miami Heat in a 4-2 series.

The Lakers were currently knocked out of the 2021 NBA Playoffs in the first round by the Phoenix Suns after suffering a 1-4 series defeat.

LeBron reverting to his former number 6 at the Miami Heat sort to help his team to win next seasons NBA title which will also help him equal the late Kobe Bryant’s 5 times NBA Championship rings.
