Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Khafi Kareem has shared her experience of how she battled with her conscience after falling victim to se.xual violence.
Discussing the subject of rape and se.xual violence against women on Twitter, Khafi revealed that she was once raped, however, she did not report the crime to the police.
Explaining why she did not file a report against the perpetrator of the criminal act, the soon-to-be wife of BBNaija star Gedoni, stated that the rapist apologized after the act.
According to the UK based socialite indicated that she made herself believe that the man was under the influence of alcohol and it was an excuse she used.

She wrote: ‘#WhyIDidntReport – because he apologized right after. Because I made myself believe him being drunk was an excuse. Because the one person I did tell said I caused it. Because I felt dirty and ashamed. #WeAreTired.’
‘Yes, this did happen to me. I’m sharing in the hope that others will feel no shame in sharing what happened to them. Please don’t deflect or say it is not my story when it was already hard enough sharing it.’
