Security Analyist Professor Kwesi Aning has suggest that, it will only take Ghana Military to curb situations in Volta Region uprising of Western Togoland fight for independence.
In an interview he granted on Accra-based Joy 99.7 Fm monitored by Ghgossip.com on Tuesday 29 September, 2020, Professor Kwesi Aning, who is a Secutiy Analyist said “Western Togoland insurgency: The only institution we trust to protect the citizenry is the armed forces. We need them to rise up to the occasion and defend the nation. This is the time we need them the most.”

According to the Security expert, the discussion goes beyond politics. adding that security services need to employ high intelligence in dealing with the situation to no escalate the mayhem whiles they try to curb the riots.
“We need a back door channel to be able to clarify all these things We must be cognizant of the rule of law. The Western Togoland insurgency He added.goes beyond partisan politics and ethnocentrism. The state’s security must exhibit high professionalism in handling this development before it escalates. This group and its affiliates shouldn’t be underestimated.”
Adding that, there should be a nonpartisan group to deal with the situation if the need be for a dailogue to ensure peace.
He said “Western Togoland insurgency: I think this is a conversation that we need to have irrespective of our differences. We need a bipartisan approach. More conversations. We need to show that we are together and happy about the peace we are enjoying”
