The name of 10 soldiers and a policeman who were named as accomplices in the kidnapping charges involved in the alleged kidnapping of the Taraba State kingpin, Bala Hamisu (Wadume) have been removed from the charges.

These names were removed by the Attorney-General with the charges also amended.

The amendment to the charges by the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran come some days after the AGF, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), took over the case from the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu.

This means the number of defendants has reduced from 20 to seven and the number of counts also dropping from 16 to 13.

The soldiers include Captain Tijjani Balarabe, Staff Sgt. David Isaiah; Sgt. Ibrahim Mohammed; Corporal Bartholomew Obanye; Private Mohammed Nura; Lance Corporal Okorozie Gideon; Corporal Markus Michael; L/Corporal Nvenaweimoeimi Akpagra; and Staff Sgt. Abdullahi Adamu, and Private Ebele Emmanuel.

The name of the policeman whose name was removed in ASP Aondona Lorbee.
