Victor Osimhen has been approved to have compassionate leave following the loss of his father, Elder Patrick Osimhen.
In late May 2020, Elder Patrick Osimhen died and the Super Eagles striker has been in the country since then to mourn his father.
On the word of Lille Manager Christophe Galtier, Victor is the only player recommenced pre-season with the club.
Galtier said, “The only player missing is Victor Osimhen, who recently lost his father”.

“At this period, he needs to be close to his family. So we have decided with the club to allow him stay with his family for the funeral.”
”He is therefore absent for several days. I give him, like everyone at the club, my total support in this difficult time.”
But then there haven’t been any announced burial plans by the Osimhen family for their 80-year-old father. After Victor’s mum, Christiana died in October 2011, he had a very close relationship with his father who raised him as a single parent.
Among the seven children of late Osimhen, Victor is the last.
