Nigerian professional footballer and Lille striker Victor Osimhen has been awarded the winner of the 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe prize.

Lille tweeted on their official page that

Nigerian forward Victor OSIMHEN won the Marc-Vivien Foé. The prize for the best African player in the French Ligue 1, the French football championship for the 2019-2020 season. Congratulations @victorosimhen9 !.

Victor replaced Cote d’Ivoire star Nicolas Pepe in Lille from Belgian First Division A club Sporting Charleroi.

In the last season, the Lille forward has scored 18 goals and made 6 assists in 38 appearances. After Vincent Enyeama (2014), Victor Osimhen becomes the Nigerian to win the Marc-Vivien Foe prize.
