According to Rya, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is not meant to massage the egos and the aspiration of artists in Ghana hence to do see the need for the board and the academy to modifying to suit the interest of these artists.

This comes as a response to the call from legendary Hiplife sound engineer and record producer Da Hammer for the boards and academies organizing the various award schemes in the country to try and consider artists’ interests whenever nominating them for their awards events.

According to the ‘The Last Two Entertainment’ record label boss, most artists go into depression whenever they are nominated in numerous categories in an award scheme and fail to win even one on the night of the event.

He said the various award schemes should sometimes consider the artists’ state of mind when he/she is nominated in numerous categories by at least awarding him/ her one or two awards during the night of the event.

Rya in her submission on the Hitz FM’s ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning show hosted by Andy Dosty stated artists should do whatever they could to win awards when they are nominated rather than looking for favors from the board of the award scheme.

She added as an artist, if you feel there’s the need to buy credits to people just for them to vote for you to win a certain award, you must do just that since there’s nothing wrong with soliciting for votes.
