Veteran South African vocalist, Sibongile Khumalo has been confirmed dead.
Per reports, she died earlier today at the age of 63. As at the time of the report, what actually led to her death wasn’t known.
Her death was confirmed on social media by the official Twitter handle for the Eyewitness News in a tweet which reads;
“Renowned and Celebrated singer Mam’ Sibongile Khumalo has passed away at the age of 63. Eyewitness News can confirm that she died earlier today.”
The renowned musician was born in 1957 in Orlando West in Soweto. She is lauded as one of the great singing talents of her time as she inspired the creation of new music by South African composers.
