Travelers who hoped to have flew from Ghana today through the only international airport of the country, the Kotoka International Airport are left stranded and wandering as workers at the airport go on indefinite strike today.

The agony of the stranded travelers came because they had no knowledge that The Ghana Airport Company Limited’s Divisional Union of the Public Services Workers’ Union of the Trade Union Congress

, has given directive that all general staff of the Kotoka International Airport must withdraw their services from 6 am on Friday, February 26, until further notice.

The strike according to the Union, is due to the Company’s Board’s attempt to shelve the report of an investigative committee which allegedly confirms the Managing Director, Yaw Kwakwa

is guilty of mismanagement and abuse of office.

The union on 25th February published a press statement stating that, the only way to make the Kotoka International Airport work and turn the fortune of the company on track is when the current Managing Director is removed from his post and replaced with a deserving one who can live up to the task of managing the company.
