Hiphop is gradually getting a stable stand in our music industry. We can now talk of musicians like Manifest, Sarkodie, El,Kojo Cue, Tee Phlow and the likes. With the new addition of a hiphop category to the Western Music Awards, new arts can really be motivated to do much more of what really defines them. Skerie Badmon is probably the hardest working upcoming rapper in the Oil City right now. Dude Has the most projects and his recent Little Lights. His Little Lights
4 Nemisis Loso
His story telling and Fante street vibes makes him unique. Loso matches his skill with some pretty decent wordplay. Sort of new on the block but Nemisis Loso also known as Fante Lamar comes through with solid street vibes. His Growing Up In Africa is Africanism with a woke up Message is a brilliant project. He has shot some couple of nice videos too. He therefore makes it to number 4
3. Abi.deen
My third cat brings bars every time, even on songs which aren’t even rap. Wordplay Punchlines and Metaphors. Pigin English and Fante vibes on mostly trap. He had a really solid project out late last year titled Digital Eargasm. He is a Spotify and Rap “Genius” Verified musician.
2. Casta Troy
Undoubtedly the second person on the list is Casta Troy. He got 4 nominations with his Get It which is still receiving massive airplays and downloads. Born and bread in Takoradi, he is set to release his first EP, ‘The Mind Of Picasso’. Casta Troy has been tipped by industry players and other bloggers as one of the Promising Takoradi based rapper. His EP Listening session had many industry players showing up to support him.He has in the past released tracks like Note and Under Siege which really performed very well.
1. Kobby Major
Straight from the PsyphaRylla camp is Kobby Major. Unothordox and iKobby from 2016 were solid projects. Full street and raw fante hiphop vibes. He has been consistent with it. In 2017 Kobby Major had songs and visuals like BBF and Menntry making waves.
