Information from multiple sources indicate that some Togolese are attempting to cross over to Ghana as as protests against the unending rule of the Gnassingbe family continues.

The report adds that the protesters want a restoration of the 1992 Constitution which prescribes a tenure of office of a sitting president. If restored, the rule by Faure Gnassingbe will at least be limited.

The late presdient of the country Gnassingbe Eyadema ruled for 38 years after which his son Faure, took over and has since been in power.

And this is the bone of contention which erupted last week, leaving at least seven people dead in its wake.

Ghanaian Immigration Officers are said to be on high alert and security has been beefed up at the border.
