The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the ruling party New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako popular known as Chairman Wontumi has alleged that some group of people plotted to assassinate Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison.
According to Chairman Wontumi, the group of assassins have been arrested and are in the custody of the police undergoing investigations. Speaking on his Television, Wontumi TV, the Ashanti Regional Chairman disclosed that the leader who spearheaded the plot and issued a threat to Cynthia Morrison is from the opposition party, the NDC.

Chariman Wontumi also disclosed that an anonymous person gave them a tip off on the hideout of the assassins which led to their arrest. The police found in their possession machetes, guns, and a sum of GHc5,000 cheque.
“They threatened to eliminate Cynthia Morrison too. She got an NDC person call to threaten her. Luckily, she got someone leak informationn about the person and their hideout. She quickly called the police and they acted on the intelligence, and behold, they held machetes and guns in their hands and a cheque of Five thousand Ghana Cedis,” Chairman Wontumi detailed.
