African presidents have proven to be inherently incorrigible and power-drunk and it’s evident in this report. What could else be a plausible reason to arrest your own mother and daughter because they want to run the country in future?
Rwanda’s president, Paul Kagama has reportedly arrested his mother and her two daughters because one of the daughters dared to challenge him by attempting to run against him in the presidential election.
Vinny Radak took to Twitter to share the news, writing: “Paul Kagame jails Mother and her daughters because the daughter wanted to run for presidency.”
They are expected to face trial in October. If convicted on the state security charges, she’ll be facing a minimum of 20 years in prison.
This is totally absurd and we hope the international community will put pressure on the President to release these innocent people without delay.
