History has it that before the coming of the whites to Africa, the indigenes practiced their own form of religion; they worshiped God through the lesser gods. However the whites (herein Europeans), succeeded in convincing the Africans that their gods were inferior and thus introduced Christianity and Islam to them.

Onyeozi Nwolisa, when he was a pastor

And that has been customs of the vast number of Africans. We have been indoctrinated with the teachings of the Bible and Quran right from infancy and that’s how the religion has been sustained.

However, there some few people who still hold on dearly to the African religion (traditional religion). One of them is this Nigerian traditionalist called Onyeozi Nwolisa. Shockingly this man was once a pastor. You heard right, he was a PASTOR!

He renounced Christianity somewhere last year and posted this lengthy essay on his Facebook timeline to that effect, ‘Its wonderful to discover who you are, i use to deceive myself before but something in me keep telling me that am living in pretence, not until i found the truth by the grace of CHIUKWU OKIKE ABIAMA, if you know me before and you are close to me now you will discover that something has happened to me, am a changed person now, what a joy to find the truth, i use to find it difficult have self control but is a thing of the pass now glory to EZECHUKWU OKIKE ABIAMA who has done this for me, do you know how it happened?

”It was the day i discovered the meaning of my name Chiukwunomnso, my advice for you all is to try and discover who you are don’t wait for your pastors or prophet to tell you who are, when it happen to me i have no pastor, no prophet no friends not even my family it was just me and my creator CHIUKWU OKIKE ABIAMA, start asking questions and stop believing everything you were told, they said as it was in the beginning so shall it be, I don’t believe in that, there must be changes, I don’t live on under any dogma I try to do what is right in the sight of my CHI and Men, let me stop for now Thank you. #Is still me Onyeozi Chineke unu n’ile Udo CHINEKE diri unu n’ile Iseee Iseee Iseeeeeeeeeeeee#ji”

Fast forward and Onyeozi has come out to say he values some animals more than Jesus. On Sunday, July 9, he posted photos of himself with a goat and a chicken beside a man with other ingredients.

He said, “I do all My Sacrifices. No white man do it for me on the cross so stop deceiving yourself. I valued these things here than Jesus.”

His comment predictably did not sit well with some conservative Christians who descended on him with bashing here and there whilst others just laughed it off.
