The maiden edition of the 3 Music awards went down live yesterday (March 24) and there were thrilling performances from musicians like Stonebwoy, Obibini, Teephlow, Joyce Blessing, Joe Mettle, Sista Afia, Gallaxy, Kumi Guitar, Kurl Songx, Ex-Doe, Chicago, and several others.

However one notable absentee was Shatta Wale. Although the Freedom hitmaker was billed to perform that evening, he failed to make an appearance.

Taking to Facebook to explain why he couldn’t perform, Shatta Wale did not mince at all when he said the organizers asked him to perform last to which he opposed.

He said their decision to let him perform last did not go down well with him so he ultimately left the venue. He however reveled in the awards he won on the night and dedicated them to his fans.

He wrote:

I know some of my fans traveled a long distance , wasted their time and money just to watch me perform, but unfortunately I didn’t get on the stage because those people were asking me to drop the mic down for other artists to perform.
They wanted me to perform Last and why should it always be like that?
I just came down from a long journey, I need to perform for my fans and catch some rest. Sorry to all my beloved Fans who’re disappointed,
Sometimes things like this for happen for the Right thing to be done next time.
