An ex-military officer identified as  Adjona Henry and a chief identified as Nana Odiasempa Nii Ade Quaye have been arrested by the Nsawam Police station for reportedly brutalizing a suspected thief to death.

According to reports, the victim by the name Abombi was arrested for stealing a pregnant goat that reportedly belongs to the chief on Thursday, April 1st, 2021.

The victim was then taken to the palace of Nana Odiasempa Nii Ade Quaye where the supposed Rtd. military officer subject the thief to severe beatings, whipping him with a rope and stamping him in the chest and on the neck as the thief struggles on the floor.

After the thief was released by the chief, he managed to walk to a railway crossing but was found dead the following morning at a nearby spot.

Speaking to Starr News, the acting  Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Region Police Command Sergeant Francis Gomado said that Nana Odiasempa Nii Ade Quaye and Adjone Henry were immediately arrested by the Nsawam Police for investigations.

The police are now in the possession of the video which captures the thief being beaten as evidence to aid them with the investigation and prosecution.

It has been advised by the Ghana Police Service to always bring suspects to the police station for interrogations rather than taking matters into your own hands. Actions like this have caused the death of so many individuals who were even innocent.
