The general public, along with some dignitaries, from today until Tuesday, January 26, will have the opportunity to pass before the body of the late former president Flt. Jerry John Rawlings.
The body of the first president of the 4th Republic of Ghana will be in state at the Accra International Conference Center.

In addition to the general public, the heads of the security agencies, the leaders of the political parties together with the traditional leaders among others, will be able to pass through the body from 8 am to 6 pm today.
From 9 am to 4:30 pm on Tuesday, January 26, the President and Vice President, their respective spouses, and other high-ranking members of the Judiciary and the Legislature will also have the opportunity to present before the body of the former president. Jerry John Rawlings.
The state funeral of the late former President Rawlings will be held at Independence Square in Accra from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
This was followed by a vigil held by the Ghana Air Force held last night in their officers’ mess in commemoration of Mr. Rawlings, who was also a retired flight lieutenant.
A perpetual flame was lit with many brilliant tributes rendered to the man that many in the force say was an inspiration.
