Contrary to a widespread belief in Ghana that sensational music duo, R2bees was signed onto Starboy Entertainment owned by Nigerian superstar Wizkid, that’s actually not the case as revealed by Wizkid himself.
Speaking on a Nigerian radio station, Wizkid suggested that R2bees are too big for the record label and that it was a couple of collaborations they had that brought them together.
He said:
It’s a family thing. R2bees was never signed to Starboy. R2bees cannot be signed on Starboy. These are people who started music before I did. Its a collaboration we did to put out music.
Wizkid and R2bees have produced some hit songs since they started working together; Slow Down and Tonight.
The Come Closer hitmaker said the affiliation was never contractual and was only borne out of friendship and his love for R2bees and Ghana.
The Nigerian musician spoke fondly of Ghana and even hinted that he would love to relocate to Ghana when he was much older.
