Few days ago, rapper, The Game, born Jayceon Terrell Taylor rippled the social media landscape when he declared BOLDLY that African Americans would cripple America if they ever decide to go back to their root-Africa!
The issue generated so much buzz on the internet and on several mainstream media outlets with varied reactions from social media users owing to the the gravity his statement wielded.
I was privilege to have an exclusive interview with Nana Ama Kukudam I, a US-based Ghanaian Queenmother who spoke passionately about the subject and dissected it from her own perspective.
According to the beautiful monarch who was born in the US, The Game’s speech was spot on, adding that all Africans must ponder over what he said to serve as a catalyst that will transform the African continent for good.
According to her, being an African descendant living in the diaspora and separated from the continent doesn’t change ones ancestry or DNA and this is basically the reason why they have to be as conscious as The Game to reconnect to their root and make it as big as they want it.
She added that no matter how long African Americans have spent in America, they still feel hollow because America is never their home which consequently makes them feel like a lost tribe waiting to be reconnected to their homes.
Expanding on what the Game really meant by, ‘We would cripple America if we move back to Africa,’ Nana Kukudam said the Game probably took his view on the economic and spiritual standpoints in the sense that Black Americans have largest consumer power which runs into trillions of US dollars.
And from the ethnic and spiritual viewpoint, she explained that African Americans have a home that they will receive them with open arms no matter how long they have been separated from the continent.
Nana Ama Kukudam I also made other profound submissions which ultimately reveals how the Game’s statement has stirred them (African Americans) into a state of consciousness.
I enjoyed having the interview with this distinguished royal whose primary objective is to see the African continent, especially Ghana becomes even better than America so it becomes a safe haven for all of us.
