Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu claims that people’s efforts to ensure that their wedding ceremony is glamorous and unparalleled has hampered their comprehension of marital vows.

In light of recent events, with many partnerships and marriages collapsing and developing problems, the Priest observed that couples are more concerned with frivolities than with truth.

He bemoaned the fact that many people today devote their time on planning a lavish wedding ceremony while disregarding the fundamentals of marriage, resulting in a high number of marriage failures.

“I promise to be TRUE to you in GOOD times and in BAD.” This is one of those strong words you say during marriage. We can even write a PhD thesis analysing what it means to be true to someone in good times and in bad,” the priest wrote. 

“Unfortunately, most often, the time people spend to share aso ebi (uniform party cloth) and selecting style for nails and haircut and choosing bestman will not allow them sit down and reflect if actually they truly mean those words.”

In a recent story, Petra, the former aide of Governor Yahaya Bello has reacted to the Idibia war which has been making headlines on many blogs recently.

According to Petra Akinti, she sees nothing wrong with what Tuface has been accused of. In as much as Tuface loves Pero, he is gravely disrespecting Annie as insinuated by Petra in a Facebook post.
