Nigerian music sensation, Patrick Okorie better known to his fans as Patoranking has revealed why he chose the Reggae/Dancehall genre as an artiste.
The Lagos born star whose No Kissing Me Me song with Ghana’s rap icon Sarkodie is still making waves all over Africa said in an interview that his desire for women made him love Reggae/Dancehall.
He said though the reason might sound funny, it is actually one of the bases for selecting the genre, which he did during his high school days. He said campus girls got attracted to boys who could mime so in order not to be left out, he thought it wise to mime songs that his male friends would not know.
As a result he started learning songs of Reggae legends like Bob Marley and Lucky Dube which were apparently easy to mime.
So Patoranking is telling us the beautiful music he makes for us to enjoy is meant to get women to his side and not because of passion? In fact, ‘we can’t think far.’
