This is probably the first time something like this is happening. It has been rumored that some pastors use dubious ways to make money from their congregation in the name of connecting them to their Maker.

Pastors have been bashed severally for living flashy lives with monies received from their congregation while some church members go through hardships. This is probably a reason why many have decided not to go to church.
In a video sighted on social media, a pastor was heard “insulting” the entire congregation for giving just $200 offertory. According to him, the congregation should bow their heads down in shame for being unappreciative of what God has done for them.
In his words, the members of the church are trying to cheat God by giving him a chicken change while he has blessed them with abundant wealth.
“Two weeks ago the collection was 200 and something dollars on a Sunday morning right here in Sufr3. We should be ashamed of ourselves. 200 and something dollars at a Sunday morning Mass collection. Are you telling me the lord has not blessed you?” he quizzed the congregation.
The preacher cited an example in the Bible and advised the congregation to do the needful else face the wrath of God for cheating him.
Well, my question is, aren’t we suppose to give offertory from our hearts? Are we to be forced to give an amount we do not intend to give in the name of ” we are cheating God”?. Similarly, when we don’t give wholeheartedly, it attracts curses instead of blessings and as such, members are to give offertory from their hearts and not forced.
