Sarkodie’s main prowess in the rap game is his fast rap and tongue-twisting ability which first made him fearsome and help establish his legacy in the hip-hop fraternity.

Sarkodie had a a couple of mixtapes that captured his tongue twisting phenomenon. When he gained prominence too, most of the songs he composed during his formative period were fast raps, the Busta Rhymes kind of style. Remember the song Lay Away?- That’s exactly what underpins Sarkodie’s greatness.

Well, for your information there are some Ghanaian rappers who are also in the same department as Sarkodie but lack of recognition has limited them in the shadows of oblivion. This write up will take a look at these rappers.

1. Flowking Stone

Flowking Stone is a great rapper and one of the best in the rap game. Unfortunately for him, he’s struggling to sustain his relevance in mainstream and that’s something that has affected his brand. His current song, Best Rapper Africa (BRA) says it all. He told his own story in the song and how much he has been sidelined despite his huge talent.

He argued that although he has not been given much attention as regards the current crop of rappers, he has been able to stay in the game for as long as he has which ultimately means he is the Best Rapper in Africa. Aside this new track, he has other great songs which has his tongue twisting element. This is a fact that all HipHop fans know, including Sarkodie’s fans.

There’s no doubt that he can even do better than Sarkodie. Recall that not too long ago, popular Ghanaian producer, Hammer of the Last 2 fame bemoaned the fact that Flowking Stone is not getting the attention despite his talent. According to Hammer whose real name is Edward Nana Poku, Flowking Stone is an amazing talent. He rightly observed Flowking Stone is immensely talented but Ghanaians have not really been able to appreciate his talent.

He had said; ‘My brother, one guy who’s so talented that if I had not been too busy now with this bread business I would have taken to the studio and camped him is Flowking Stone. ‘Herh! that guy is a raw talent, Ghana has not even heard anything from him. These Producers around are not able to bring out the best in Artistes. Have you seen how I managed to bring out the best in all those artistes I produced? I just wish I can be in the studio with him, the guy is too good to be where he’s as at now.’

2. Lyrical Joe

Lyrical Joe’s explosive introduction on the Biibi Ba project produced by Sarkodie in 2018 gives fans a glimpse of what he can do especially to those who have no idea that he belongs to this bracket relative to theme of this write up.

Although he has been around for a while, he’s yet to hit that stardom to match his talent. Born Joseph Gamor, Lyrical Joe- often called LJ introduced himself to Ghanaians when he first participated in the popular African TV show X Factor in 2011.

He was the only Ghanaian rapper who featured in that year’s edition and although he gave a good account of himself, he sadly bowed out of the show due to lack of votes.

Lyrical Joe is a gem and those who have listened to the few tracks he has produced so far know how he can twist his tongue faster on a beat in a way that Busta Rhymes himself will envy.

3. Gemini Orleans

Gemini Orleans raps faster than Sarkodie and we can bet our last pesewa on this. He even does it better by doing it in English, something Sarkodie cannot do.

We don’t want you to argue over this because Sarkodie himself subtly acknowledged this when he gave Gemini thumbs up on his song Revenge of the Spartans. According to Sarkodie, Gemini has wicked flows that impresses him a lot.

Gemini was featured on Sarkodie’s Makye Album which won the Album of the Year in the 2010 Ghana Music Awards.
