According to the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, all the salaries and allowances of all political appointees in the state be cut by 30%.
This was made known in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Matane adding that the deduction will take effect immediately.

Part of the statement reads;
“The reduction, which is temporary, was also in consideration of the economic situation imposed on the state by the coronavirus pandemic.”
