Seven electricity distribution companies in Nigeria have had their activities halted following some discrepancies found in their mode of work.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC ) on Tuesday gave the DisCos in Port Harcourt, Benin, Enugu, Eko, Ikeja, Kano and Kaduna 4 days maximum to come clear or face the full rigours of the law for failing to comply with the rules of engagement.
It has been discovered that workers if the DisCos have assited some customers to use electricity illegally whilst others are overcharged despite the company’s rule that all customers should be provided with meters and also charge them N1,800 monthly.
