Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, and his NDC have promised Ghanaians that the next NDC government will grant 7-days leave for fathers when their wives give birth.

This was made during the unveiling of the party’s manifesto on Monday evening which was highlighted by Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang. Furthermore, the NDC intends to reduce the number of working hours for new mothers when they resume active work after their leave to not more than four hours a day.

She said: “We will extend maternity leave to four months, we will limit working hours for nursing mothers to no more than four a day when they return and we will also require seven days of paternity leave for new fathers”.
