The opposition National Democratic Congress NDC has ushered in a new vigilante group named ‘Eastern Mambas’ in the Eastern Region.
The new vigilante group was outdoored to provide security to the former president John Dramani Mahama when he stormed Eastern Region as part of his campaign tour to meet delegates and explain to them why he is the most suitable candidate among the rest to lead as the flagbearer.
Reports have it that the group were made up of heavily built machomen all wearing Black T-Shirts with the inscription “Eastern Mambas”.
Recently, Award-winning Broadcast Journalist, Kwami Sefa Kayi is called on Ghanaians desirous of ending violence and thuggery in Ghana politics to desist from calling groups such as Delta, Hawks, and Invisible Forces ‘vigilante groups’, but rather by their rightful names which he says include ‘hooligans’, ‘thugs’, ‘vagabonds’ and ‘thieves’ yet those political parties are still ushering new ones.
