The 22 year old Japanese tennis sensation, Naomi Osaka has ousted her American colleague tennis star, Serena Williams to become the world’s highest-paid female athlete.

Forbes magazine reports that in 2019, the 22 year old two-time Grand Slam champion, made a staggering amount of £30.7m in prize money and endorsements combined.

The money earned by Naomi is £1.15m more than the amount earned by her arch rival and mother of one, Serena Williams. In 2015, both players smashed their 2014 single-earnings record of £24.4m set in 2015 by Russia’s Maria Sharapova.
