If you were privileged to have been born in the 80s and early 90s, then you belong to the ‘golden era.’ These periods were the most defining moment in music and movies worldwide.

In Ghana, all our great movies were produced around this period, especially the 90s. One of them was the dreaded Diabolo

. It featured the late Rev Eddie Coffie, Eunice Banini and Prince Yawson (Waakye).

It was a massive hit and I remember it was one of my favourite movies although it was really scary.

The man behind the movie Bob Smith Jnr, who later earned the name Diaboloman has spoken with Anita Erskine and Giovani on Starr Drive in an interview and disclosed that the movie was to serve as a a deterrent to prostitution.

He said:

“Prostitution is the oldest trade, according to the Bible, so if you are making a story that is a deterrent to it, then you can imagine that kind of impact that it has.

“The word ‘diabolo’ is German and it has an impact.
