Mercy Johnson Okojie commonly known as MJ is a Nigerian actress and was born on 28th August, 1989 in Lagos to an ex-naval officer Mr. Daniel Johnson and Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson. She grew up in a family of Seven (7) with three (3) additional sisters and three (3) brothers.
Mercy Johnson spent all her childhood age in different barracks with her father who was constantly transferred due to the nature of his job as a military personnel.
Mercy Johnson skills in acting started when failed her University entrance exams because she had difficulties in paying her fees.
A movie titled ”The Maid” was one that brought her to limelight where she acted as a possessed nanny. It was there after she started attracting movie producers and started appearing in numerous movies.
Due to her hard work and seriousness, she has won several awards in the movie industry. She won the best actress for the movie ‘Dumebi The Dirty Girl’ at the African Magic awards in 2013. She also took home Best Leading Actress in the Nollywood Movies Awards in 2012 and 2014.
She has a foundation which is aimed at helping the less fortunate especially widows and children which is known as the ‘Mercy Johnson Foundation’
In 2013 November, she was banned from acting due to her high demands. MJ got married in the year 2011 to one Mr. Prince Odianosen Okojie well known as Odi.
Mercy Johnson has been blessed with four beautiful children, that is one boy and three girls.
She is rated as the 3rd richest actress in Nigeria with the net worth of about N600 million per movie.
She is currently the brand ambassador of Mr. Chef iodized salt and also the senior Special assistance to the Cogi state governor in 2017.
