Management of GhGossip.com was astounded, and saddened, to say the least, when our attention was drawn to a publication we made on Monday, May 13, 2019, with the headline “South Africa Student Arrested For Eating At KFC For Free Over A Year”. It was glaring evidence of yet another low journalism in terms of reporting.

KFC South Africa has denied reports that said student was arrested after pretending to be an executive from the fast-food brand in order to get free chicken from restaurants.

KFC Africa’s public affairs director, Thabisa Mkhwanazi, confirmed to Business Insider South Africa that the story was false.

“We follow strict operational processes,” Mkhwanazi said. “Any unauthorized individuals posing as KFC team members in our restaurants and head office would have been picked up immediately.”

Though the story was shared by a Kenyan Kenyan journalist who tweets from an account called ‘The African Voice‘ it would have best and better on our part as a media outlet to verify the authenticity of that story before associating our brand with it.

We are therefore issuing a heart filled apology to KFC and their customers for such a poor publication from our outfit and we also deem it to say emphatically that we are SORRY and such fake news is not going to appear so far as our brand is alive.

Thanks
