A Ugandan man and his lover have been dragged before a court because they were inconveniencing other people with the noise they made from their lovemaking.

Chacha Mwita and Cynthia Mauhokha are a couple standing trial before a court in Meru, Uganda after complaints were made to the effect that the screaming from their lovemaking was inconveniencing members of the public.

Another person, Magoola Twaha, 27, was also charged alongside the two but denied the two counts.

Both Mwita and Mauhokha initially pleaded guilty to two charges of a felony before a magistrate.

The court was told that on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Makutano Imenti North, Meru, the three were found in a building of one Humphrey Murithi.

Mwita, 24, who is a businessman and Maukokha, 31, a casual labourer, admitted that although they had intentions of sleeping together, the screaming heard from them was about a misunderstanding on money.

Maukokha told the court she was in her usual business when she and Chacha agreed on an amount but he only gave her part of it.

Having known Mwita since last December 2018, she was shouting, demanding pay before going all the way with him.

However, the police alleged that the screaming was a result of their lovemaking and charged them based on a supposedly false assumption.

The magistrate told the court that in view of their explanations, he believed they were changing their pleas to not guilty. The case was then adjourned to be recalled on May 15, 2019.
