Former Minister of Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, E.T Mensah has stated that Akufo-Addo and late former president Jerry John Rawlings friendship deepened because of mutual respect.
Speaking in an interview with Adom FM,E.T Mensah noted that ,J.J Rawlings naturally likes people who listens to his advice.

“I wasn’t shocked by t heir relationship. For Rawlings if he advises you and you listen he likes you. Nana Addo also acknowledged that he is the founder of the fourth republic. All the things we do hear from Transition, to District Assembly was geared towards building a democracy that will stand the test of time and he was in the driving seat.”
E.T Mensah was one of the longest serving Sport Ministers under the Rawlings administration.
