We guess this is one of the many reasons why Kumasi movie industry is not taken serious. They always want to produce movie titles which mirrors real life situation and shroud it in satire.
The name Delta Force became very popular and synonymous with violence in Ghana few months ago. They are a vigilante group affiliated with the incumbent government. They infamously walked into a court of law and demonstrated impunity of the highest order by releasing a colleague who was standing trial and attempted to beat up the judge presiding over that case.
Predictably Kumawood has woven a story around it already! However the producer of the movie has been threatened not to go ahead with the premiere. The unknown caller is believed to be a member of the Delta Force.
The producer narrated his experience: “I had a call very early in the morning on Monday from an unknown contact threatening me not to release the new movie or be dealt with ruthlessly.”
According to the producer he has decided to extend the premiere date to May 16, 2017 to report the issue to Police for further investigations to be conducted.
The Movie as told by the Producer is educative, inspiring and full of suspense but not to make mockery of the recent happenings between the Vigilante group, Delta Force and the Regional Security Co ordinating director appointed by H.E Akufo-Addo.
The Delta Force movie featured popular stars like Bernard Nyarko, Christiana Awuni and many others.
