The 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic has witnessed various changes in the house as both NDC and NPP holds power in the house.

The 8th parliament of the Republic of Ghana witnessed a great change as the Speaker of Parliament comes from the majority while the deputies come from the minority side of government.

Currently, after the selection and voting process, Hon Joseph Osei Owusu, MP for Sefwi Bekwai was selected as 1st Deputy Speaker and Hon Andrews Amoakoa Asiamah Independent MP for Fomena Constituencies as Second Deputy Speaker for the 8th Parliament.

On 7th January 2020, an independent Member of Parliament wins the seat of the second deputy speaker of Parliament.
