A report by The Cable claims that the Korongilum community in Chibok local government area of Borno state is currently being attacked by suspected Boko Haram terrorist.
Per the report, these terrorists came into the community around 6 pm, shooting and setting many houses on fire. An eyewitness stated that locals were just returning from their farms when the attack began.
However, a military source has indicated that troops from the Nigerian Army’s 28 task force brigade and 117 battalions, both headquartered in Chibok, are already on their way to the area.
In a statement, the source said;
“In fact, the brigade and the battalion commanders are the ones leading soldiers to the attack.”
This comes barely a month ago after these same terrorists attacked Payasatan Bilaburdar village in Chibok and killed two siblings.
