Ex-Member of Parliament of Nadowli Kaleo Constituency, Alban Sumani Bagbin has just been sworn-in as the new Speaker of Parliament for the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

The long dragging process, which started at 12:am on Thursday, January 7, delayed the swearing-in of MPs-elect.

As a reminder, Newly-Elect Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has served as a member of Parliament since 1992 and also served as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament for the 7th Parliament which was dissolved this morning.

He also served as the Head of the Ministry of Health under the administration of the late John Evans Atta Mills in 2008.

Mr. Alban Bagbin also served as a Majority leader in 2009 and was also appointed as the  Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing by President John Atta Mills.

He also succeeded Dr Benjamin Kunbuor as the Majority Leadetr under Mahama’s administration and now, he is the new Speaker of Parliament for the 8th Parliament.
