Rappers worldwide brandish ego and carry their bloated self image everywhere and it’s not different in Ghana.
Sarkodie, the man many regard as the best and most consistent rapper in Ghana, always brag in his songs about his credentials.
And that is how the others behave via other avenues. Fante rapper, Kofi Kinaata who is enjoying relative success sine he burst onto the scene not too long ago, has claimed that he owns the title when it comes to punchlines.
The rapper in an interview on Happy FM said thus:
“I’m the Punchline king, the whole Ghana, there’s no one. I’m the punchline”. I respect Sarkodie and the rest of the rappers but if you are talking about punchlines I have no size.”
It is just that with music, as you progress, you discover some aspects of you and explore them. Though I’m still dabbling with other sounds I’m still the punchline king.”
