The has always been a dispute as to who truly deserves the title Dancehall Queen. Each artiste claims she is the best. This comparison has often been between Lynx signee Mzvee and Kaakie before the emergence of the late Ebony.

Ebony arguably was the best female artiste and one of the best in the country in general. She had several hits to her credit until death laid its icy hands on her. We are sure her competitors and their fans never acknowledged her as someone who truly represented the genre.

But few days after Ebony’s death, Kaakie has said she was holding the dancehall key before she handed it over to Ebony in 2017.

Kaakie who was replying a fan on Instagram revealed that she promised Ebony to support her in the music industry after she [Kaakie] presented the dancehall key to Ebony.

“. in January 2017. I gave her a crown Key holder and told her I was handing over the Dancehall Title to her. Am in full support,” Kaakie replied.

Born Grace Kaki Awo Ocansey, Kaakie has enjoyed relative success in the music industry until she went quiet few years, partially owing to her training as a professional nurse.

Well, now that Ebony is no more, we are wondering if Kaakie will reclaim her title and ascend the throne again.
