So the much hyped 3 Music awards organized by TV3 network to reward hard working Ghanaian musicians took place over the weekend.
Shatta won the topmost award which happens to be the Song of the Year award. But that’s not actually our interest.
Bhim Nation and SM fans followed the ceremony with keen interest because of the rivalry that exist between them and also because both artistes were nominated in the same categories.
Shatta Wale had 9 nominations whilst Stonebwoy got 8 nominations when the full list of nominees was announced somewhere in January.
They competed in these same categories together with other artistes; Male Act of the Year, Facebook Star of the Year, Most Eventful Snapchat Channel, Fan Army of the Year, Best Twitstar, Reggae/Dancehall Act of The Year and Song of the Year.
At the end of the day Shatta Wale won 4 awards on the night, but technically he won 7 awards on the night (winner of the Song of the Year gets plaques for the songwriter, engineer and producer) and Stonebwoy won 3 awards on the night.
Stonebwoy won Stonebwoy won Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Twitstar of the Year and Instagram Star of the Year.
On the other hand, Shatta Wale won the following; Facebook Star Of The Year, Fan Army of The Year, Song Of The Year and Male Act Of The Year.
So there you have it. Shatta Wale has floored his bitterest enemy. Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is in sight, let’s see who will claim that one too.
