The Minister-designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Hawa Koomson has finally rendered a sincere apology to her constituents for the Kasoa shooting incident.

Recall during the 2020 Voter’s registration exercise, Hawa Koomson reportedly fired a gun at her constituency during a brawl with some political thugs.

In her defense, Hawa Koomson stated that she only fired the gun because she felt her life was being threatened by the thugs believed to members of the National Democratic Congress(NDC).

During the Appointment Committee of Parliament today, 18th February 2021, the MP for Awutu Senya East said she has regretted her actions and wished it never happened.

She also pleaded with the Committee not to pass any comment on the incident because the police are still investigating the matter.

“Regrettably it was an unfortunate incident and I wish it never happened and I pray it never happens again in the history of our politics in Ghana,” she said.

“I also apologise for those who were scared but it was in defence because I felt my life is in danger,” she added.
