God indeed is a prayer answering God and this is evident enough— that is if and only if all the dreams would become a passing reality. I have always said I cannot be the only who has seen nothing wrong with the present state of the Efua Sutherland children especially if we want to take its location into consideration.

I mean the park is at very vantage point, I am safe to say at the very heart of the capital. Imagine all the revenue that park would fetch the country if it is being used and utilised to its very purpose.

The last time I passed there, it was a pathetic scene— the grass had withered and the remains of what is left of the park was used by smokers and other homeless peeps.

Good news is the minister in his maiden budget yesterday has touched on the very thing we all have been dreading. Hon. Ken Ofori Atta says government would partner with the private sector to give the park an ultra modern stir and we just cannot wait to see that become a reality.

Addressing parliament and the populace, he said:

‘The Ministry will partner the private sector to develop the Efua Sutherland Park into an ultra-modern world class Park. Specifically for 2017, Mr. Speaker, we will use IT to promote and market tourism via the single portal window.

Mr. Speaker, the Ministry will also undertake a food festival to show case the diverse rich Ghanaian foods through cooking competition throughout the country.

Mr.Speaker, Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts remains one of the most underdeveloped sectors in our economy despite the immense growth potential and opportunities for job creation.

When developed, the sector can positively impact the lives of many individuals, families, communities and small enterprises in our country and providing needed jobs for our teeming youth.”
