This comes after Shatta Wale disclosed in his State of the Industry address that there is the need for Ghanaians to promote one genre that can be attributed to all music works in the country.

This was after Shatta Wale revealed that during his trip to Miami in the United State of America he was asked by some of the foreign investors he met as to what kind of music Ghanaians are known for.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on the Daybreak Hitz show on Hitz FM, Dada Hafco lamented about how Ghanaians have adopted the culture of other countries as their own.

He said that countries like Jamaica and South Africa are known for what they do best and that represents them on the international market.

He cited that South Africa always makes sure they are known wherever they go, even through their accent and the fact that they blend the English language with their dialect.

Dada Hafco stated that it is high time Ghanaians also promote their very own to the world market. He said that the Highlife genre can be championed to do so by every Ghanaian musician acknowledging the fact that Highlife is the original genre in the country.

He further stated that every genre adopted from other countries has a blend of the Highlife tune in it, thus he claims that Highlife is the originator of all musical works in Ghana.
