Sultry singer, Raquel has suggested that being famous is a liability and I’m wondering what exactly she meant by that.
In this era that everyone is struggling to attain a measure of fame to the extent that anyone who appears on TV goes about brandishing his/celeb status, being a star means to a lot of people.
However, the demerits associated with fame could be the core point which illustrates Raquel’s opinion. According to her, people easily pass judgement on them when they have no idea their real persona.
Raquel, born Raquel Naa Ayorkor Ammah revealed this in a lengthy interview with the Graphic Showbiz.

“It is never pleasant to know that everyone thinks they have a say in your life without regard for your privacy. It is disheartening when people think it is their right to tell you what to do and what not to do.
“Truthfully, I don’t know what is so pleasant about people passing judgment about you even when they hardly know you in person just because you are in the public eye. Unfortunately, this is what you have to endure immediately you become a star, which is so unfair.”
“We are different and so how I will handle criticisms will be different from another person. I love to look at the brighter side of every issue and I use fame as an empowerment tool to drive my ambitions.”
“If thousands of people can talk about what I do in my life, then I should take advantage of that to drive a positive agenda and that is what I have done these years, to use my music to spread the message of love in my songs.”
“I think there is room for everyone to shine so there’s no need to compete with one another. My works may not be public now but I have been working behind the scenes to become a better artiste.
“For instance, I have been taking lessons in voice coaching and stage crafting for more than seven months now and it is all to help me be a better artiste and my fans can testify when I drop my new album soon.”
