Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Information says the quest for Western Togoland Independence is a possible threat to having a peaceful elections in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

He said “There are still some outstanding threats and we continue to assess the situati on.”

According to him, the riots is causing the government is also spending more on military deployment to the area, amid the destruction of properties.

Speaking on TV3 New Day on Monday monitored by Ghgossip.com, the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayeribe said that the deployed security to the area had a lot to put in place before getting to the grounds in attempting to ensure calm and peace.

He said “The security had a lot to put in place before getting to the grounds”

Moreover, he assured Ghanaians that the government is doing massively well ton control the situation.

“I can assure you that the state is taking this issue with all seriousness. The core objective is to restore calm and order.”

However, responding to allegations that the NPP is benefiting from the situation he said “The government has too many important things to do than to be behind something like this or orchestrate this chaos.”

He also applauds the security services for their work undertaken at the area.

“The security services have done a good job and they need to be supported to achieve their objectives” He said.
