Ghana Election 2020: The Electoral Commission (EC) has affirmed that, it is only the Chairperson who is constitutional mandated the responsibility to declare winner for presidential elections, and 2020 Presidential elections is no different.
According to the EC, the Chairperson of the EC, who is the sole Returning Officer for the presidential election is the only can, ans is only the person in the whole of Ghana who has the right to announce and declare winner of 2020 presidential elections.

The Electoral Commission, headed by Madam Jean Mensa as the Chairperson of EC on Monday, 30th November, 2020 posted on the Commisson’s social media the message that;
“The Presidential Election Results will be declared by the Chairperson of the EC, who is the Returning Officer for the presidential election.”
In the past, some political parties have given false information and hope of winning elections after polls before the EC even certified presidential results to declare the winner.
According to the EC, if such false assurances are pampered, they may lead to chaos and unexpectedness in this 2020 presidential elections.
