The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that comment made by its flagbearer John Mahama that Ghana’s economy has degenerated and in the position when we joined HIPC is correct assertion.
Speaking to the media in Accra on Wednesday 28th October, the national communication officer,Sammy Gyamfi said;

“We wish to reiterate the assertion by our flagbearer, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, that President Akufo-Addo has supervised the degeneration of Ghana’s economy back to the same unsustainable debt position we were when we joined the HIPC programme 19 years ago.”
Meanwhile International Monetary Fund(IMF) have debunked the assertion that Ghana is back to HIPC.
