The disqualified Presidential Aspirant of United Front Part (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng; Gyataba has sued the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) at the High Court over his disqualification form contesting for President in the up coming general electi ons.

Nana Agyenim Boateng, who is also the leader and founder of the UFP looks forward to the High Court to grant him order of Certiorari to make-a-no case for the EC’s disqualifying his candidature as presidential aspirant in this year’s presidential election.

He also seeks from the High Court to order EC to give him the opportunity to make corrections of the mistakes committed in his presidential nomination forms.

Part of Gyatab’s suit read “Our application for judicial review is premised on the grounds that respondent’s decision is irrational, illogical and violates the procedure set out in regulations 9 of CI 127 and article 23 of the 1992 Constitution and breaches the rules of natural justice,”

The EC, led by it Chairperson Jane Mensa, on Monday revealed that, 5 out of 17 presidential aspirants have been disqualified from taking part in this year’s December 7 general elections.

The five include Kofi Koranteng, an independent candidate, Marrick Kofi Gane, an Independent candidate, Akwesi Odike of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Kwasi Busumuru of the People’s Action Party (PAP), and Gyataba.
