Ex husband of Christiana Love now Obaapa Christy has thrown a question to GHAMRO as to why he has not received any royalties from the committee though he has written a lot of songs for people in the country.
In an interview with Accra FM’s Gospel 360 entertainment show, the man of God who was called on the phone asked:
“I’ve heard GHAMRO gives royalties to songwriters in this country but I’ve never had my share of it but I have written a lot of songs in this country. I want to know from them if they have all names of songwriters in the country they distribute the money to since I’ve not received a penny from them? Pastor Love questioned.
Of which he was answered by the Second Vice Chairman of GHAMRO, Diana Hopson who was in the studio replying the man of God said “musicians you wrote the songs for should have mentioned you as a songwriter of the songs when registering it at GHAMRO.
You need to register all your works with GHAMRO so that you will also get royalties from the song but if you sold it to them, then you don’t own it anymore”.
