MP for Assin Central

Many political analysts believe the embarrass ing defeat suffered by the NDC in the 2016 election boil down to corruption. In view of this President Akuffo Addo has pledged to fight corruption to any extent, ostensibly in order not to suffer the same fate as the immediate erstwhile government.

It also believed many ex government officials are leaving in trepidation, believing that the NPP will come for them sooner than later. Unfortunately for them their fear is likely to manifest. MP for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong who is famed for his brashness has hinted that indeed lots of former government officials will be hauled before the courts and consequently jailed for various malfeasance committed while in office.

“People have been arguing with me when I speak but the evidence is enormous that I don’t know where to start from. I am emphatic based on documents we have. If we don’t publish these people for their wrong doings, NPP officials will come and do the same and Ghanaians will vote against us,” the maverick politician said.

Mr Agyapong has named Mr Ernest Thomson , Kinsley Kwame Awuah-Darko and Dr. Stephen Opuni as the first three people to be prosecuted and jailed. He said the level of corruption perpetuated some NDC appointees has crippled the economy which the new president must struggle to build.

“The documents are here and we shall be interrogating them in the coming days. Ghanaians will be shocked when details of these documents are made public. They will see the havoc these NDC appointees have wrecked the economy of the country which Nana Addo must struggle to build.”
